One of things I have learned since being diagnosed with Ehlers Danlos Syndrome is that many doctors don't know a lot about rare diseases. Because of this, education of the caregiver community is really important so people everywhere with rare diseases can receive the help they need.
I am excited to be able to support Dr Pradeep Chopra, one of the most amazing pain doctors, who has diagnosed and treated many of my friends in being able to reach out to more patients and families. Dr. Chopra has been invited to California to present at Grand Rounds at the Children's Hospital of Orange County (CHOC). In Grand Rounds, Dr Chopra will educate other physicians and medical professionals on Chronic Pediatric Pain, especially in regards to Ehlers Danlos Syndrome.
I am working with my good friend, the Sick Chick, to sponsor an afternoon conference for patients with Dr. Chopra. Many patients are not able to travel to see specialists and I am excited to be able to help bring one of the best pain specialists to them.
I heart Dr. Chopra and education about pediatric pain!
